Legacy in Action: A Classic Club Creating Lasting Impact

The Rotary Club of Ntinda ushered in a new chapter of service, leadership, and community impact with the installation of its 34th President, Rotarian Pamela Hatega, at a colorful ceremony held at Nob View Hotel, Ntinda.

The event brought together Rotarians, Rotaractors, district leaders, partners, friends of Rotary, and distinguished guests to celebrate a moment that was both a leadership transition and a reaffirmation of the club's commitment to Service Above Self.

The installation was graced by Past District Governor John Magezi Ndamira as Chief Guest, alongside incoming Assistant Governor Robert Odedo and other Rotary leaders from across the district. The evening reflected on the club's rich legacy while setting a bold vision for the future under the theme, "Legacy in Action: A Classic Club Creating Lasting Impact."

Honouring a Year of Unity and Impact

The ceremony provided an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of outgoing President David Allan Twinomujuni and his leadership team. During the 2025–2026 Rotary year, the club delivered impactful projects across Rotary's areas of focus, including the successful completion of the Bugiri WASH for Schools Phase II Project, cancer awareness and screening outreaches, educational support initiatives, environmental sustainability programmes, and the launch of a maternal and child health Global Grant initiative.

Under his stewardship, the club strengthened member engagement, expanded youth-focused initiatives, advanced strategic planning, and continued building a strong foundation for sustainable growth.

A Vision for Lasting Impact

In her acceptance address, President Pamela Hatega shared an inspiring vision for the future, anchored on Rotary International's 2026–2027 message, Create Lasting Impact.

She challenged members and partners to look beyond short-term interventions and focus on sustainable solutions that transform lives and communities.

"Our vision is ambitious," she noted. "Over the next three years, we aspire to create lasting impact in the lives of 350,000 Ugandans, particularly women and children. Not temporary interventions. Not symbolic gestures. But meaningful, measurable, sustainable impact."

Among the key priorities highlighted for the year ahead is the continued support of vulnerable and single mothers through empowerment initiatives, care packages, and a maternal and child health Global Grant project. Building on work initiated during the previous Rotary year, the club aims to strengthen support systems for young mothers and improve maternal health outcomes in underserved communities.

The club also reaffirmed its commitment to education and child welfare. Following the successful completion of its WASH project and educational materials programme, Rotary Club of Ntinda plans to introduce road safety initiatives in schools as part of the district's strategic focus for the coming year.

Leadership Continuity and Shared Purpose

A recurring message throughout the evening was the importance of leadership continuity and collective responsibility. Speakers emphasised that Rotary's greatest strength lies in its ability to build on previous achievements while remaining focused on long-term impact.

As President Pamela takes office, she inherits a strong club with a proud history spanning more than three decades of service. The transition symbolised not an ending, but the continuation of a shared journey driven by fellowship, innovation, and community transformation.

The Rotary Club of Ntinda enters the 2026–2027 Rotary year with renewed energy and a clear sense of purpose. Guided by Rotary's values and inspired by the call to Create Lasting Impact, the club will continue investing in sustainable community solutions, strengthening partnerships, empowering vulnerable populations, and nurturing the next generation of leaders.

As members, partners, and friends celebrated the installation, one message resonated throughout the evening: lasting impact is not created by individuals acting alone, but by communities of people choosing to serve together.
